Meek Mill is mourning the loss of his protégé Lil Snupe. The 18-year old up-and-comer was shot and killed in Winnfield, Louisiana Thursday morning.
According to Louisiana's KNOE TV, Lil Snupe - born Addarren Ross - was shot twice in an apartment his was visiting. Police have reportedly identified a suspect. Lil Snupe was signed to Meek Mill's Dream Chasers Records.
Mill took to Twitter to mourn Snupe. In a revealing message about Lil Snupe's lifestyle, Meek writes that he did everything in his power to "get that kid off the streets."
Earlier this year, Meek Mill explained to MTV News that Lil Snupe's raw talent initially attracted him to Snupe's music. He says Snupe was "spitting so much pain," adding that while Snupe was from the South, he was able to rap "like an East Coast guy."
