Donald Sterling is breaking his silence.

Nearly 2 weeks after his racist remarks hit the internet and he was banned for life from the NBA, the former Clippers owner taped an interview for CNN’s AC360.

The interview will air Monday (5/12).

“I’m not a racist,” Sterling told Anderson Cooper. “I made a terrible mistake. I’m here to apologize.”

He said that he waited to publicly apologize because he was “emotionally distraught.”

Anderson asked during the interview, “You’re saying you were set up?”

“Well yes, I was baited, “ Donald responded. “I mean, that’s not the way I talk. I don’t talk about people for one thing, ever. I talk about idea and other things. I don’t talk about people.”
