WCVB - According to WCVB at least 17 people, including several firefighters have been taken to local hospitals after a nine-alarm fire broke out on Beacon St. in Boston. 

The fire broke out at 298 Beacon St. and quickly grew in a nine-alarm blaze. 

WCVB’s John Atwater reported seeing a firefighter being taken from the rear of the building on a stretcher. He said EMS crews were yelling for an ambulance and pumping his chest. EMS tweeted a few minutes later that one firefighter was in cardiac arrest. 

Boston EMS said that two firefighters were taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with burns. Another was alert when he was taken from the scene on a stretcher. 

Their conditions were not immediately known.
