After nearly two years of delays and speculation, Nike decided to release the “Red October Edition” of the Air Yeezy 2 via a surprise announcement on Twitter. 11 minutes later, coming as no surprise, Nike tweeted that the $245 shoe had already sold out.
Kanye has been very candid about his unhappiness with Nike. During a recent visit with our sister station, Power 105.1 in New York, he expressed his disappointment with the shoe giant and shared that he had struck a new partnership with Adidas. It sounds like he will get more money from Adidas and have more creative control with his sneaker collection. Nike clearly stated that this will be their last release from Kanye’s collection.
