Described as "a concert, a smack-down and a video game in one,” The Lil Wayne Vs. Drake Tour made its stop at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield last night for the first of six shows scheduled this week.  Inspired by the Street Fighter video game, each concert is set up as a battle where the two rappers compete every night to see who opens each show and again to see who “wins” each show at the end of the night.  Fans vote on a winner through an app designed for the tour.

 

As a surprise to most, Weezy was picked by the fans to open last night’s show and was also chosen as the “winner” again at the end of the night.

 

The highlight of the night came when Drake decided to give an impromptu acceptance speech for the MTV Video Music Award that he had won this past Sunday.  He thanks Common for presenting the award and jokes about the criticism that he gets for his female-friendly records.  Watch the full speech below:
