Pedro Martinez took to social media after learning of the shooting of his long time friend and former Boston red Sox team mate David Ortiz and posted the following message accompanied by a picture of him hugging Ortiz from the back.
"I’m at peace knowing you out of danger; you a strong man Compai, can’t wait to hear your voice. My thoughts and prayers are with you, see you soon. Me siento tranquilo de saber que estás fuera de peligro, usted es fuerte Compai, ya quiero oírle la voz. Orando, nos vemos pronto"
Pedro also took a moment to speak on how he felt about the shooting and also reflected on the type of man Ortiz is on the Major League Network, a company he works for, and could not hold back the tears as he questioned why such a thing would happen to such a great man.
