Police responded to the Rockport Middle School in response to an assault Monday morning involving two students.
The arrested student's name has not been released due to his age, but Rockport Police identified him as a 13-year-old male from Rockport.
Police said the victim, a juvenile female, was taken to a local hospital with stab wounds they described as serious, but not life-threatening.
She was stabbed around 7:30 a.m., just before classes began at Rockport Middle School on Jerdens Lane. The school was placed into lock-down mode immediately, and taken out of lock-down mode around 9 a.m.
Rockport Police said their school resource officer was inside the school and responded to the stabbing right away.
The suspect student fled, but was found outside the school and arrested. Police haven't yet named the exact charges against him.
