Looks like the feud is back on between Kanye West and Taylor Swift.
Over the weekend, unseen footage from the 2016 call leaked online. In the call, Kanye tells Taylor about a song he's working on -- that he later released as "Famous" -- with lyrics about Taylor. Swift seems nervous to hear what Kanye has to say ... but calms down after he tells her the lyrics are simply, "I feel like Taylor Swift might owe me sex."
Fast forward to when Kanye did release "Famous," the final lyrics were different, West rapped, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that bitch famous." The song reignited the feud between Kanye and Taylor, with the main source of contention focusing on the word "bitch."
On Monday, Taylor broke her silence on the unseen footage, saying about the video, “Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for 4 years)… SWIPE up to see what really matters.”
What really matters, she adds in an additional image, is donating to organizations that are critical during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The “somebody” in Swift’s message presumably refers to Kim Kardashian, who in 2016 went on Snapchat and released about three minutes of snippets out of the 25 minutes of conversation that leaked on Friday, and most likely also her husband, Kanye West, who is seen by Swift fans as having lured her into a trap with the fateful phone call.
Well Kim has spoken and is accusing Taylor of being a "liar." In a series of tweets Kim wrote "@taylorswift13 has chosen to reignite an old exchange - that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now. I didn't feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I'm actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I'm left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying."
