Nicki Minaj Was Living her Best Life In Trinidad

Nicki Minaj is back home for carnival!

The “Shake The Place” rapper returned to her native land, Trinidad and Tobago, to play mass and mix and mingle with fellow greats.

For carnival, Nicki sported a beautiful, sexy pink and purple two-piece with enormous wings. She rocked it with a matching headpiece; take a look:

A video of Nicki hanging out with soca legends, like the queen of bacchanal, Destra Garcia, Machel Montano, and Patrice Roberts, went viral. Destra gave Nicki her flowers and told her aside from being the queen of rap, that she was also a queen. Everyone bigged each other up, and you can feel the love.

In the caption, Nicki paid homage to TnT and reflected on her father and grandmother’s passing. She wrote:

“LEGENDARY FOOTAGE WITH THE GREATS OF MY COUNTRY. I COULDN’T BE MORE PROUD IF I TRIED. I REPPIN DAT RED DAT WHITE DAT BLACK I REPPIN MY REAL FLAG. wish my grandmother was alive to see this. Wish daddy was alive to see this. See you tmrw, Trinidad.“

Robert Maraj, Nicki’s father, passed away in 2021 after a tragic car accident. In 2010, for Nicki’s MTV documentary, “My Time Now,” she tearfully spoke on the passing of her grandmother, who raised her early on.

Today (February 22), Nicki shared a video performing her verse on “Shake the Place (Remix),” with Machel Montano and Destra. Take a look:

Nicki also announced the return of Queen Radio. The “Super Freaky Girl” said the show would return on March 3 at 3p PST. The show launched in 2018 on Apple Music but will have a new home with Amazon. There’s a possibility she’s dropping new music, too; we’ll keep you posted.
