Teacher Fired for Correcting Student's Misspelling In Tweet

An employee of Frederick County Public Schools in Maryland was fired after correcting a student's misspelling in a tweet on January 5th. Yes, actually.

The student above, only identified as "Nathan", tweeted his plea to "close school tammarow" (yikes). School system employee, Katie Nash, who ran the school's Twitter account replied (now deleted): "But then how would you learn how to spell 'tomorrow'?"

In a world where Wendy's and other top brands are regularly sassing their followers, Nash must've thought her reply was harmless. Apparently, however, the school district disagreed.

She was told not to tweet anymore after that interaction, and Nash told The Frederick News-Post that she was fired on Friday afternoon following the post.
