Mayor Walsh Takes Stand After Southie Parade Denies Gay Veterans Group

Mayor Walsh has responded to a group of organizers in his home town of South Boston, after they denied ‘OUTVETS’ a chance to participate in this year's St Patrick’s Day Parade in Southie.

‘OUTVETS’ is a group of LGBT veterans who have participated in the Boston St Patrick’s Day Parade for the past two years.

Mayor Walsh responded to their decision with a statement:

“I will not tolerate discrimination in our city of any form.  We are one Boston, which means we are a fully inclusive city… I will not be marching in the parade unless this is resolved.  Anyone who values what our city stands for should do the same."
