BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Mookie Betts hit a grand slam on the 13th pitch of his fourth-inning at-bat against J.A. Happ last night, and it was a game-changer.

The All-Star's 23rd homer put his Red Sox up for good in the eventual 6-4 survival of the Blue Jays. Betts said it was the best at-bat he's had in five years in the majors.

"Since I've been in the big leagues, it's probably the most excited I've been," he said.

This year, the outfielder's leading baseball in average, slugging percentage, and OPS. Betts' two hits and season-high five RBI in the latest win helped push his hitting streak to 10 games. He's batting .429 with seven ribbies, seven extra-base hits, and a dozen runs during the stretch.

"I'm just working hard," he said. "I've got good-hitting guys around me. J.D.'s been helping, AC's been helping. It's just a bunch of guys around me that are kind of keeping me on track."

Betts leads the majors with nine game-winning home runs, and his four career grand slams have him tied with Dom DiMaggio and Ellis Burks for the most by a Sox leadoff hitter in the last century.

We'll see what Betts has in store for an encore tonight when Boston hosts Toronto again at 7:10 p.m. in search of its 11th straight win.
