Record Number of Travelers Anticipated Thanksgiving Week

BOSTON, Mass (WBZ-AM) —  It is anticipated that a record number of people will be traveling ahead of this Thanksgiving holiday according to the American Automobile Association

Some two and a half million people will be taking to the nation's roads, rails, and skies with Tuesday and Wednesday expected to be the most popular days to travel.

Over at Logan Airport -- folks were looking to beat the rush early Monday.

For those of who can't stand crowded road --   Be on the road by 4 am. On the Mass Pike anyway volume about doubles every hour for the next 3 hours after that,

State Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver says planning is important and easier than ever.

We encourage members of the public who are traveling to places across Massachusetts to plan the trips in advance. Use resources such as Mass 5-11 or other technology tools so they can find the best route in the time of travel,”

Guillver says to keep an eye on your weather app to nasty conditions are possible at peak times either side of the holiday.
