BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Celtics thumped the Knicks by 28 last night for their fifth win in six games since an inconsistent 10-10 start. Jayson Tatum admitted the group was buying into its own hype.

Coach Brad Stevens and All-Star Kyrie Irving explained the recent change.

"I see some of the issues we had earlier in the season when I watch this play," Stevens said. "There are things that we have to fix, but we're competing at a good level."

"I think at this point we're just playing with a sense of effort, where now it's not so much about who's playing, who has the talent," Irving said. "Now it's like, okay, who's going to give that effort every single time down, and who's gonna demand it from one another and hold each other accountable?"

Irving led a balanced attack with 22 points--and said part of the change is, the C's are just having fun again. They're rooting for one another and just enjoying playing the game.

Celtics will visit the Bulls tomorrow.
