BOSTON (WBZ-AM) — Democratic politicians in New England spoke out against a Texas judge's ruling that the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional.

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey said in a tweet Saturday that the ruling “is a threat to health care coverage and funding for all Americans.”

Healey added her office will fight to protect coverage for pre-existing conditions and access to health care.

Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., said the judge’s ruling will raise health care costs and take away coverage for millions of people if it is not overturned.

“The recklessness of this ruling can’t be overstated,” Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., said in a tweet.
