BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Tonight at Symphony Hall, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is set to kick off his sixth year in office with his annual State Of The City Address.

WBZ NewsRadio's Carl Stevens spoke to Walsh last week, and asked what he would focus on.

"Really, the fundamental issues that we're focused on as an administration is education, housing, job creation, and the environment," the mayor said.

Those housing concerns include "making sure that we have housing needs that people can stay in our city, and working against gentrification and trying to keep our city strong," Walsh said.

Walsh also might talk about the challenges of the city meeting those goals, considering there is, in the mayor's words, "no federal partner"—Walsh doesn't see President Donald Trump as a friend to the city.
