The viral story of a woman who dumped 7 puppies in a dumpster at Coachella has seen an update after authorities arrested the woman they believe to be responsible for dumping the puppies in a dumpster. The puppies were discovered by an employee of the restaurant where the dumpster was located on a hot 90-degree day.
Deborah Sue Culwell, 54, was busted at her Coachella, Calif., home around 5:30 p.m. by Riverside County Animal Services Commander Chris Mayer, the department announced.
Culwell is facing up to seven counts of felony animal cruelty, officials said. Her home contained roughly 30 dogs that needed to be impounded to make sure they were properly fed and cared for at a shelter in Thousand Palms, according to John Welsh of Riverside County Department of Animal Services.
