Jamie Foxx & Katie Holmes Hit Met Gala For First Major Event As A Couple

Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes finally made it official at Monday night's (May 6) Metropolitan Museum of Art's 2019 Costume Institute Gala, marking the pair's first major event as a couple.

Even though the stars didn't walk the red carpet together, the two posed for photos inside of the annual fashion event in front of a flower wall and in the main Met hall, with their hands around one another. Neither of them hit the carpet in anything too extra, at least compared to the other attendees, but Holmes offered up an appearance in a custom Zac Posen x GE Additive x Protolabs gown, while Foxx wore a black suit. "When they can spend time together, they do. When they’re busy and they can't, they don’t. They are two adults who enjoy each other’s company and have for a long time," an insider told PEOPLE.

Foxx and Holmes' have kept their romance private since 2013, but it seems like this might be another step in going public with their coupling. Back in late December, the pair wrapped up 2018 with a yacht outing in Miami and followed up with a jet ski trip the next day.

Despite their busy schedules, the two have also seemingly found a balance between their relationship and busy schedules. "Katie and Jamie see each other as frequently as they can," a source revealed. "They have known each other for years, and both turned out to be great parents, so they also have that in common. They are dedicated to their careers. Plus they give each other space."
