In the wake of Kobe Bryant’s death, thousands of fans have signed a petition to alter the NBA logo to feature his image.
"With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo," creator Nick M wrote on the Change.org petition.
At the time of publication, the petition has over 489,000 signatures.
The current NBA logo has featured the silhouette of Los Angeles Lakers legend Jerry West since 1971.
Bryant retired from the NBA in April 2016, after capturing five NBA titles.
