BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — New data released by Hebrew Senior Life shows that more than 100 residents across their long-term care facilities have died from COVID-19.
The Hebrew Rehabilitation Center-Boston campus saw the majority with 50 deaths.They also reported a total of 162 cases. A hundred of those infected residents have recovered.
The HRC-Dedham campus saw 58 total cases, with 29 deaths. Fifteen of those infected have recovered.
"We send our deepest sympathies to the families of those at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center who have passed away," Hebrew Senior Life said in a statement. "With stringent no-visitor rules in place, it is heart-wrenching that families cannot visit their loved ones at the end of life. For those families who are in this situation, please know that your loved one is not alone. Our staff, including chaplains, have become surrogates for families who no longer can be at their loved ones’ bedsides. Every senior who passes away in our care will know that they are well loved."

Other Hebrew Senior Life facilities also saw deaths because of the coronavirus. The Jack Satter House in Revere saw 11 deaths. Orchard Cove in Canton saw seven deaths, this includes one among independent living residents, one among enhanced living residents, and five skilled nursing residents. Newbridge on the Charles Assisted Living had three deaths, Simon C. Fireman Community had two deaths, and Center Communities of Brookline had one death.
This means Hebrew Senior Life has seen 103 deaths across their facilities.
On Thursday, the state reported 4,123 deaths at long-term care facilities across the state. This makes up about 62% of the total coronavirus death toll in Massachusetts of 6,640.
