Ellen DeGeneres Addresses Toxic Work Environment On Season Premiere

Ellen DeGeneres addresses claims of a toxic workplace during the opening of her daytime talk show’s season 18 premiere on Monday.

The 62-year-old talk show host apologized to those who have been hurt, acknowledged her ‘position of privilege and power’ and vowed to make this ‘new chapter’ the best one yet.

In a segment captured by Us Weekly, she said: "I'm excited to see all of my staff and my crew. Hi, everybody. Please don't look me in the eye. I'm kidding. But I will be passing out gum for everyone. Kidding again. I can laugh now."

DeGeneres has reportedly denied the rumour that her staff aren't allowed to look her in the eye before.

Ellen also praised DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss on his promotion to co-executive producer.
