BOSTON (State House News Service) - Gov. Maura Healey on Wednesday nominated a new member to the Parole Board and a new Juvenile Court judge, while the Governor's Council unanimously approved the first two judicial appointments of the term.
The council voted 6-0 to seat Springfield sole practitioner Tracy Duncan and Mintz attorney Adam Sisitsky on the Superior Court bench.
Healey tapped Roxbury probation officer Edith Alexander to fill one of two remaining vacancies on the Parole Board. Alexander holds a master's degree in education counseling and psychology and also works as an emergency room unit coordinator at Boston Medical Center, according to her resume.
Fabiola White, deputy legal counsel at the Massachusetts Probation Service, was the governor's choice for an open Juvenile Court seat. She previously operated her own practice in Cambridge and represented children and families in matters like guardianships and care and protection proceedings, according to the nomination papers. White would fill a vacancy left by Judge James Torney, a Gov. Mitt Romney appointee.
