ARL Hoping Warmer Weather Helps Mouse Find A Forever Home

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Animal Rescue League hopes the arrival of spring and warmer weather will bring people back out to its adoption centers.

ARL said this severe winter kept people indoors causing fewer dog adoptions and limiting kennel space for other dogs in need of help.

One dog awaiting adoption since December 2025 is Mouse.

Mouse is an 11-month-old German Shepherd mix who came to ARL dangerously underweight and too weak to even wag his tail.

ARL’s team put Mouse on a round-the-clock refeeding plan carefully designed to help him regain strength.

Mouse lived with a loving foster family as he continued to heal and is now ready to be adopted from ARL’s Brewster shelter.

To help encourage adoptions this spring, ARL is working with specialty pet brands, Tall Tails and Polkadog, to offer special gift bags to the first 50 people who adopt a dog from ARL starting Friday, March 27.
