BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston College’s Men’s Basketball team is searching for a new coach following the firing of Earl Grant over the weekend, after an underwhelming five seasons with the team.
The Eagles placed 16th in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season, only winning four games. Grant’s tenure with the team only saw them finish above .500 once, and no NCAA tournament appearances.
Grant replaced former Eagles basketball coach Jim Christian in 2021, and finished his coaching run with a record of 72-92 overall and 30-67 in the ACC. Despite showing some improvement in his first three seasons with the team, Grant underperformed in his last two seasons, winning just seven ACC games combined in back-to-back years.
The BC Men’s Basketball record of 305-368 is the worst in ACC history, and the team has not reached an NCAA March Madness appearance in 17 years.
