FOXBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick was even more tight-lipped than usual in his Wednesday press conference when asked about Quarterback Mac Jones.

"Day by day," was his answer to most questions about the quarterback, who injured his ankle in Sunday's 37-26 home opener loss against the Ravens. That included questions from reporters on whether Mac will start on Sunday, if there's a plan for any surgery for a procedure on the ankle, or even what the injury was.

"What do I look like," Belichick quipped, "A doctor? An orthopedic surgeon? I don't know."

Belichick did say that Jones' injury had greatly improved in the last 48 hours or so.
