Teen Killed, 15-Year-Old Arrested In Dorchester Shooting

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A shooting in Dorchester left one teenager dead an another in custody Wednesday afternoon.

When the shots were fired around on Cameron Street around noon, the Boston Police Gang Unit, based across the street, responded.

They found a teenager suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has not yet been identified.

Suffolk County District Attorney Rachel Rollins spoke at the scene.

"The finality of death, I know we all understand that, but this person isn't coming back," she said. "These split-second decisions are ending lives, literally, and changing lives."

Officers arrested a 15-year-old near the scene who they found with a loaded gun. Another gun was also found at the scene.

"We are not saying that that suspect is the one responsible for the shooting," Boston Police Superintendent William Gross told reporters. "I can tell you right now, folks, another shooting in broad daylight, we are not happy."
