BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Shuttle Buses replaced Red Line service between North Quincy and Braintree Monday morning due to an electrical fire at Quincy Center.

The Quincy Fire Department told WBZ NewsRadio that the station was evacuated around 8:30 a.m. after a fire broke out from the switch box to the third rail.

The flames were put out by around 10 a.m.

The MBTA said on social media that there was about a 20-minute delay on the Red Line.

Riders are encouraged to use the MBTA Commuter Rail between Braintree and South Station as an alternative.
