BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Even though the traditional St. Patrick's Day Parade was held on Sunday, Mar. 15, in South Boston, there was still plenty of celebrating on the actual day of the holiday.

On Tuesday the 17th, parties were in full swing throughout the city, like the one at the Boston Ale House in West Roxbury.

The Black Velvet Band provided the music while partygoers took to the dance floor.

Lead singer and guitarist Tim Quinn said St. Patrick's Day is a great time of the year for the band. "I just like watching the crowd," he said. "We pick up the energy from the crowd. Everybody is listening and singing along and clapping along. It makes the day go by so much faster and happier and so much more fun for us."

Fun for the revelers in the crowd too. Like Arlene. "I follow this band. They're fabulous!"

Meanwhile, over at Jamaica Plain's Brendan Behan Pub, manager Michelle spoke for a lot of people when she said, "Everyone is Irish today!"
