Massachusetts Enters Phase 3, Step 2 Of Its Reopening Plan

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts entered Phase 3, Step 2 of its reopening plan on Monday, loosening some coronavirus restrictions in cities and towns.

Indoor performances venues, like concert halls, theaters, and other indoors performance spaces are allowed to reopen at 50% capacity with a maximum of 500 people.

Some indoor recreational that have a greater potential for contact — including roller skating, laser tag, trampolines, and obstacle courses — are allowed to reopen at 50% capacity.

Restaurants no longer have a capacity limit and allowed to host musical performances. However, some restrictions remain in place. Six-foot social distancing is required, and there is a limit of six people per table with a 90 minute time limit.

Meanwhile, the state plans on entering Phase 4, Step 1 on March 22. This means arenas, ballparks, and stadiums will be allowed to reopen at a 12% capacity limit.

The city of Boston entered Phase 3, Step 2 on Monday with some modifications to the state’s reopening guidance.

Indoor performances are not allowed to reopen, certain indoor recreational activities will not reopen, and restaurants are not allowed to have live music performances.
