More Than 750 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Massachusetts

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirmed another 753 cases of COVID-19 Sunday, upping the state's number of confirmed cases to 131,214.

The state DPH also reported an additional 10 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths among confirmed cases to 9,275. There have also been 215 deaths among probable cases of the virus in Massachusetts.

The state's seven-day weighted average rate of positive COVID-19 tests has risen by 46 percent over the past week, from 0.8 percent to 1.1 percent.

The Commonwealth's three-day average number of patients hospitalized with coronavirus is also up around 40 percent over the past month. On Friday, there were 421 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across the state.

According to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, the U.S. has confirmed more than 7.3 million cases of COVID-19 and more than 208,000 Americans have died of COVID-19.
