BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hundreds of people gathered with Gov. Charlie Baker, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, and the family of Martin Richard to celebrate the unveiling of Martin’s Park in the city’s Seaport District.

Martin Richard, 8, was the youngest victim in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. On Saturday, Richard’s family stood alongside Baker and Walsh for the grand opening of the park at the Smith Family Waterfront.

According to the Associated Press, the park has an accessible playground, a water play garden, and a boat replica.

“It’s also a place where people can come and sit down, and maybe have a cup of coffee and reflect,” Walsh said. “It’s amazing that we have it here in the city of Boston. This is something that all Bostonians should be very proud of.”
