BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Medical Center in Brighton was partially evacuated Wednesday morning after an electrical fire broke out, the hospital said.

According to a spokesperson with the hospital, no patients or staff were injured in the fire.

The fire was contained but power is unavailable in some areas of the hospital. As a result, several Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients and others in critical conditions were transferred to other hospitals in Massachusetts, including BMC main campus and surrounding hospitals.

According to fire officials, the hospital's emergency room was also impacted by the power outage. Ambulance services has been suspended in the meantime.

Planned procedures and outpatient appointments are being rescheduled.
