BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Whether it's a chuckle or a great big belly laugh, Thursday is the day to embrace a good laugh.

On this National Let’s Laugh Day, some Massachusetts residents are trying to put their worries aside to reduce stress and soak in the benefits, both mental and physical, that a good laugh provides.

"You have to laugh every day, keeps the spirit up," one local said.

As fighting rages worldwide, gas prices soar, tariffs strain budgets and housing remains unaffordable in the state, locals say they are trying to embrace the humor or find a few good reasons to laugh to honor the day.

"It gives you lemons, but you've got to make lemonade," another local said.
