Beginning Saturday (9-16), possession of small amounts of marijuana in New Hampshire will only be a civil violation, rather than a misdemeanor criminal offense.
Gov. Chris Sununu signed the bill into law in July that decriminalized the possession of up to three quarters of an ounce of pot.
Violators will face a fine of up to $100 for a first or second offense.
Supporters said the law means that up to 80 percent of all pot possession cases in the state will no longer end up in court. Full story here.
