A viral video circulating the internet shows the altercation between a customer and 20-year-old Mcdonals employee Yasmine James. The video starts out where the customer and Yasmine are speaking to each other separated by a counter and then the customer lunches at her, grabbing her with both hands and that's when Yasmine began thrown blows to the man's head.
Yasmine took boxing classes as a teenager and this seemed to come in handy as she defended herself against her attacker all while her co-workers watched on.
Yasmine later spoke about the incident at a press conference where she said the customer became irate that there were no more straws available.
"He grabbed me and that really scared me because I didn't know if he had a gun or a knife or what," James said. "When he grabbed me, my main thing was to get him off of me the best way I knew. Just let me go."
At the conference, Yasmine also revealed that her employer, Mcdonalds, had her on leave but she decided to sue them since she felt the company does not consider their employee's safety and blames the incident and the actions thereafter of her manager, who did not call 911, as a lack of training.
