The community in Alton NH was rocked by the shocking news of a deadly double shooting that was allegedly done at the hands of a 11-year-old boy who is now being charged with murder.
James Eckert, 48, died late Friday at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he was rushed after police found him in his home at 76 Dobbins Way while they were responding to a gunshot call around 7:30 a.m. The New Hampshire Attorney General’s office said Friday.
Lizette Eckert, 50, James’ wife, was dead at the scene with a single gunshot wound to the head, state medical examiner Dr. Jennie Duval said Saturday after performing an autopsy and ruling the death a homicide.
An 11-year-old boy was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. Friday and was charged as a juvenile with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, authorities said. Read more on this story here.
