Colorado State's Henry Blackburn Threatened After Travis Hunter Incident

Going into the big rivalry game against the Colorado State Rams on Saturday night at Folsom Field, the Colorado Buffaloes had all the momentum on their side, including a national fanbase that seems to add new celebrity fans every week. Coach Jay Norvell's decision to publically call into question Coach Prime's attire on the job seemingly put a target on his team's back while also making him the punchline of jokes made by on-air personalities at various networks such as ESPN and FS1. Nevertheless, when the game kicked off at 7 pm PST, the last-place Colorado State Rams took the fight to the undefeated Colorado Buffaloes (#19) in a shocking first half that was dominated by the Rams defensive lineman Mohamad Kamura, who pressured Shedeur Sanders, all game long until he was ejected in overtime for targeting on the star quarterback with a late hit. That penalty changed the game's complexion, ultimately seeing the Buffaloes come back and win in dramatic fashion by a final score of 43-35. However, by the time the game clock struck 0:00, it was a late hit on a separate play, earlier in the game, that garnered the majority of the media's attention.

With his team up 14-7, Colorado State Rams safety Henry Blackburn hit the Buffaloes' two-way player Travis Hunter in the midsection, causing a liver laceration that will keep him out of action for the next three weeks--a pivotal period where his team will face off against Oregon (#10) and USC (#5). In the wake of the vicious hit, Blackburn and his family have received several death threats. Additionally, Blackburn is also being investigated by law enforcement for the manner in which he injured Travis Hunter.
