The East side of Detroit is where Rees RP was born. Some of you may be familiar with rappers like Eminem, Big Sean, Kash Doll, Icewear Vezzo, and more who are from the same area. That alone says a lot of talent comes out of that city. Before he was known as Rees RP, originally his friend called him Rees and it wasn't until he got to highschool he became BG Rees. Rees describes himself as being the definition of pimpin and that’s exactly what “ RP” stands for “Really Pimpin”.
In his teens the rapper spent a lot of time moving around from different towns to Texas and finally ending back up in Detroit, MI. Since 2014, the artist has been making music with his cousins, but ultimately didn’t start taking it seriously until 2020. Music has always been in Rees’s life. People all throughout his family have had the same type of passion and dreams but sadly some of them have passed away. Rees is so musically inclined he has learned instruments like the piano, guitar, flute , drums and then has gone the extra mile of learning how to produce and engineer. Let’s also not forget he writes all of his music. Very rarely do you find a musical talent that knows how to do all these things. Once it is all said and done he wants the whole world so hear his music and hear his story.
