For R&B singer O’Rian, music has always given him a feeling of freedom to be his own person. Born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, the rising artist wants his music to reach people in a way that is “chill, fun, and laid back.” O’Rian started taking music seriously in 2018 and even though he is a college student juggling a 9 to 5, he’s still pursuing a career in music. In terms of his goals as an artist, O’Rian says he wants to inspire the next generation of singers to chase their dreams, make timeless music and become successful.
When asked about artists who influence his sound, the up-and-comer says he listens to mainly Pop and R&B. “I listen to a lot of music old and new to inspire my sound but mostly R&B/Pop artists like Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Tank, Brandy, Ariana Grande, etc…” He also lists Beyoncé, Brandy and Tank as his top 3 artists he looks up to. However, his singing isn’t the only thing the Alabama native is known for - O’Rian is also a songwriter. “I’ve gotten a lot of compliments regarding my songwriting skills which I think is still growing with practice but better than when I first started doing music.”
With two EPs (Elements of Affection, Midnight Therapy) and a single (“Hustle Til You Get It Back”) already out, O’Rian has now released a Christmas song just in time for the festive season. “By The Fire” is a fun, feel-good bop that will definitely get listeners into the holiday spirit.
