Artist/producer Charizard Evan Moitoso has always been passionate about music. Growing up in New York City, he lived an interesting life and was quite familiar with the underground scene. Today, Charizard lives in Los Angeles, and says there is a slight difference between New York’s music industry versus LA’s. “The industry for the most part is out here [LA], most of the labels are out here. New York’s music [scene] is more of a culture thing. Like you’re trying to only be famous in New York. But when you come out to LA, you’re trying to have more like a worldwide, commercial career.”
Speaking of careers, Charizard’s is already on the rise. The young producer dropped his own project over the summer – a mixtape titled Trashzard VV1. He also co-produced the vibrant “Swap for a Swap”, by Swifty Blue and Bighead, featuring rapper Kodak Black. The song charted at No. 7 on iTunes. When it comes to working with other artists (specifically New York), there’s one artist that he would love to collaborate with. “Fivio Foreign, real talk. He just nice with those adlibs “ay ay ay.” He is also responsible for one of my top 3 all-time favorite songs [“Big Drip”]. Next up for Charizard, he says he’s working on “a lil some from down under” for 2023. “Let’s just say it’s a sound that’s never been heard in America before. We shaking America and LA in March, then we shaking Thailand in April!”
