Despite this, Dampszn's passion for hip-hop remained strong. He turned to social media to connect with other like-minded artists from around the country and by the time he was 16, he had already begun the process of figuring out his own sound. After finishing high school, Dampszn recorded his first song - a freestyle over a Kanye West instrumental. This marked the beginning of his journey as an artist.
Growing up, Dampszn listened to a lot of hip-hop from artists such as The Weeknd, Drake, and Juice Wrld. These artists played a significant role in shaping his love for the genre and influenced his decision to pursue a career in music. In particular, Juice Wrld's success on SoundCloud served as a source of inspiration and motivation for Dampszn to take the first steps in his career.
However, instead of simply copying the styles of his idols, Dampszn sought to create a sound that was uniquely his own. He experimented with different genres, blending elements of pop, trap, and even EDM to craft a signature sound that set him apart from the rest of the pack. When asked about his sound, Dampszn said, "Honestly, my music doesn't sound like the artists I listen to or any of the artists in the game. I have taken time to craft a sound that is uniquely mine, and that's to my liking."
In 2023, Dampszn plans to further establish his place in the industry by releasing twelve new songs. The song, titled "Price Tag," will see Dampszn addressing the struggles of finding balance in the fast-paced world of music.
