How Kirk Sessions Went From Talent Shows To SXSW

From the auditorium of his middle school talent show to the stages of SXSW, Kirk Sessions is a rising legend. Once believed to be a young Denzel Washington, Kirk Sessions now gets compared to fellow music industry greats, RoddyRicch and Rod Wave. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, a city that is home to Rap icons like the late Young Dolph, Sessions got his musical abilities early. From singing in his church choir to playing instruments, Sessions was born to be in the music industry, but he is also destined to change it.

In a musical climate where many artists chase clout, Kirk Sessions is looking to impact the Billboard charts and the people who listen. Studio sessions have been a form of therapy for the artist, hence his name, and the creative process has motivated him to keep going. While his journey has not always been easy, Sessions is known for his hustle. Being in the streets at one point, people respected him and when they hear my music, they relate to it because they know he’s not lying.

When you strip down who Sessions is an artist, genres come last and authenticity is brought to the forefront. As an artist, Sessions is fully involved in all of his music, from writing and engineering his sound. Aiming to collaborate with artists he respects in the future, he has worked with producers such as Hitman & Jambo. As fans anticipate his debut album, Sessions is excited to share two new singles, “TrackStar” and “Open Wounds”.

Check out his new music video, “Gods Hands” out now on YouTube.
