Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Dre Anthony transformed himself from a rising artist into a hometown hero. Self describing his sound and style as versatile, Anthony’s music simply depends on what he wants to make and the emotions influencing him.
Falling in love with music at a young age, Anthony participated in a talent show when he was 11 and “knew I felt something for music then.” Despite not having much growing up, Anthony had to believe in his own vision without the necessary support system to help him achieve his goals. Though writing songs at 13 helped Anthony flex his pen, he didn’t officially record until he was 18.
As he has been pursuing music professionally for the past nine years, Anthony recognizes the challenges he faces, but believes that they’ve only made him stronger. Anthony expressed, “No matter how hard things could have happened In my life that would have made anyone in my position quit, I never could stop because my love for it is sincere.” Influenced by the likes of 2Pac, Michael Jackson, and DMX, wants to have a similar impact on listeners, inspiring them to change their life to be great. With the release of three new singles, Anthony wants his fans to know that “there will be more to come from me in the future.”
