He’s played the good guy, the bad guy, the villain, the hero, the detective, the thief and the adventurer. Today, a new side of this diamond in the Hollywood rough is reborn, as music takes center stage in his already blossoming career. Like any artist scaling the promo reigns, Nazo has put together a unique strategy for his upcoming track “You Ain't Gotta Go." A full on TikTok contest, pinning the worlds shakers, shufflers, and tappers to the test, vying for a spot in his new music video. The artist has begun preaching the good word to bring in the crowds, and taking to the digital streets to find the best dancers on the block.
After a 2 year hiatus from the music scene this virtuoso is back with a sensual and sexy hip hop track that puts the feminine mystique at the core of its message. “You Ain't Gotta Go" is not your typical track. With all the right spices that make it infectious, this one of a kind romance is an ode to the strong, independent, and powerhouse female persona. Above all, a comforting leap away from the superficial archetype of the “Thicc” bound objectified entities of desire. In a recent interview with HipHopMagz Nazo gave his fans a peek into what happened in the studio.
“My boy Goldmvn came up with the track while we were vibin’ in the studio, and when I started putting together melodies and words for the chorus it just felt perfect as a song about a woman. A boss. Someone bad bad. Naturally I drew from my own experiences and it came together quickly from there.”
A massive reception from the TikTok community so far, and hundreds of video’s pouring in to his team inbox, fans have already begun posting their renditions of the song on TikTok, trying to get that leg up on showing the viewer why they “ain’t gotta go”. Rumor has it that Nazo is in the works on a full album that explores this new vision of women in the industry, and this single is definitely the right way to start his engines.
With his role in BET’s “Family Business” and his new motion picture “Wages of Sin” starring none other than Danny Trejo currently in post-production, Nazo is well on his way to taking over Hollywood's front pages. One of the most diverse artists in the scene, Nazo is the perfect example of how independent artists are supposed to handle the limelight with grace, class, and raw grit.
