YungVV Delivers a Powerful Blast of East Coast Rap on “The V Tape.”

Born and raised in Pennsauken, New Jersey, YungVV (Julian Mahan) grew up with a deep passion for music, which he pursued alongside his interests in football and other sports. Starting to dabble in music at a young age, YungVV debuted as a rapper named VV$ Julz in 2019 when he dropped his first single on SoundCloud while attending Temple University. Despite being enrolled at the university, YungVV soon realized his true calling and wanted to pursue his musical aspirations full-time.

Over the years, YungVV has evolved beyond his initial aspirations of being famous for focusing on creating a deeper connection with his listeners and becoming an artist that people can relate to in today's rapidly changing world. With a growing following and fanbase in multiple states, YungVV has come a long way since his early days in the music industry.

As a versatile artist with a penchant for blending up-tempo pop and trap music, YungVV's music is unique and captivating, often featuring his unique take on different genres and beats. His style is one of his most defining traits as an artist and sets him apart from many of his contemporaries. In addition to his musical abilities, YungVV is also known for his exceptional songwriting skills, which he typically likes to start and finish on the morning of his studio sessions when his creative thoughts are at their peak.

Collaborating with skilled producers and engineers is also essential to YungVV's creative process. ProdbyHawkins is one of his favorite producers to work with, while Bill Kennedy at Musically Speaks Studio is his go-to engineer. When recording, YungVV never rushes his tracks, preferring to take the time to ensure that everything he produces is of the highest quality.

“HIT (Intro)” has YungVV replicate the sound of a car rolling up. The echo effect used adds to the claustrophobic aspect. Nothing stays constant. With this sense of flux, the verses do an excellent job of going for this hardcore appeal. His laid-back flow suggests the Notorious BIG as an influence, and it is easy to see as he has confidence behind each statement. Multiple viewpoints of him talking to a friend, asking for Glock, and many destinations, adds to the sense of movement. Name-dropping Gucci Mane, DJ Khaled, among others, sets the whole vibe. Glowing melodies cling to the rumbling bassline, almost physical in its uncanny presence. Production has polished perfection, with the neon-hued splendor of the atmosphere adding to the spirit of pure luxury.

Bravado boils over on “Geekii.” Within the track, the rise and fall of a person takes shape. The bluster, the bold statements, most of the song focuses on being above it all. A center of attention, the person who can do it. The track gradually becomes unhinged. Verses continue this idea. At first, there is a tightness, an intensity to how he does things. Everything comes easy. Loosening up, he starts to enjoy life. He lets his guard down, gets sloppy. He was suddenly indulging in people, things, and substances. Spacing out, he lets the song start to break down, as the near-constant groove gets stopped right in the middle of things, as the sudden stop adds to the drama.

YungVV's highly anticipated project, "The V Tape," marks the debut of his mixtape under his new name, showcasing his distinctive style that garnered widespread acclaim from his loyal followers. Look for the deluxe version, "The V Tape: Red Edition.” With numerous projects in progress and a dedicated fan base, YungVV is poised for a remarkable future in the music industry.
