Next Tuesday, March 7th is #WND Day at Exposure Hair Salon in Trolley Square on Rt. 9 West in Framingham.
This event is ALL ABOUT community and helping your neighbors and those in need.
Meet Devin. A 6-year-old boy who attends Stapleton Elementary School. Devin and his family found out taht he was given a life expectancy of 8 months to 2 years due to a tumor known as Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). It is a very rare and aggressive form of cancer typically found in children ages 5-9. Annually, only 200-300 children in the United States are diagnosed with DIPG, which has no cure. The tumor is located at the base of the brain and at the top of the spine.
Over time, it will impact all of little Devin’s essential bodily functions: heartbeat, breathing, swallowing, eyesight and balance.
Doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital have informed the family that radiation treatments are the best they can do to keep Devin comfortable for his remaining time. But as we all know, medications, treatments and hospital treatments and stays cost a lot of money. So this local event is just one of a few that have been rallying together to help our 'neighbor' and family in need.
